Salutations, all you awesome people out there! Summer is finally here, with the warm weather, near constant rainfall, and all the stuff over the past month. I don't have too much to report this month, so here's an overview:
I'm apart of a new Japanese conversation club! One of the local universities has a program in which Japanese students who desire to study other languages and/or teach Japanese to foreigners can have the chance to do so. It's open to all who want to improve their Japanese, such as yours truly, so please pray that not only will my Japanese skill increase, but that I may find more friends and opportunities to share the gospel. Thank you.
We have five students signed up for our first DTS, with a few more applications on their way! One of those students will be my wonderful girlfriend Misako! Unfortunately, we weren't able to find enough bilingual teachers and translators to be a fully bilingual school this year, but we are still determined to use as much Japanese to fully include Misako in all the school material and teachings. Please pray that she will receive the full DTS experience despite language and cultural differences. She's very excited to begin, and I couldn't be more happy for her!
Speaking of, here are some lovely pictures of us at Matsushima!
Overall, it's been a productive month of settling into the new apartment, serving at Kokoro Kitchen, doing park and red light district ministry, and learning the language. I apologize for the lack of content this time. I post another update in a few weeks. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support, and God bless you all!
Jeremiah 31:25-26
"For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish. At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me."
