Greetings, my wonderful readers! Another month has passed on by, with it bringing the relief of cool air, changing leaves, and a mythical mood that only fall can bring. There's plenty to cover, so here we go:
We have a new staff member! Meet Carter from North Carolina! He applied for our base last year, and has flown in a few weeks ago. I helped him with the extensive paperwork, such as resident registration, health insurance, pension, and getting his own bank account. Lots of things, but all worth it! He likes retro video games, anime, and working out! He'll be staying at my current apartment, which thankfully has plenty of room for three people, unlike my old Ayashi place. Welcome to Sendai, Carter!
Last week, we had our first staff retreat to the coast! With the first YWAM Sendai DTS on our doorstep, Gary thought it would be a good idea to hang out together as a team for a relaxing weekend at the missionary cabins I stayed at last year. Carter and Chrissy tried their hands at surfing, while I just swam around in the surprisingly warm Miyagi waters. We had time of worship and prayer, giving the Lord praises, and asking for His strength to do our best for this upcoming busy season. Overall, it was a relaxing and wonderful time to be with my fellow staff members.
Our DTS school is about to start in a few weeks! We've been working all week setting up the dormitories at the Ayashi seminary, finalizing the schedule, constructing gift baskets, and other miscellanous tasks needing to be done. While it was a tiring week, I can't help but to be excited for the upcoming school! I pray I can do my best as a leader to be a good example for our students and guide them to the path of the Lord's righteousness. Please be praying for me and the rest of the staff that our school will help our students grow closer to God, and hear His call in their lives. Thank you.
This coming Wednesday till this Saturday is the first YWAM Japan conference in three years! Being hosted up in Hokkaido, YWAM teams and bases from all across the country will be meeting in one spot to worship the Lord, have fellowship, and learn from one another in our mission to bring the gospel to Japan. It will cost about $120 for each person, covering room, board, and transportation. It'll be right before DTS school starts on the 13th, so after coming home, it's pretty much go time!
Lastly, please pray for my wonderful girlfriend Misako. Being the only Japanese student in our DTS, she's very nervous with all of the English content in the program as well as speaking with the western and younger students. We do have a few weeks of translated content, since they'll be taught by Japanese teachers, but the rest of the weeks are being taught by forgeniers. While her English is impressive, she can feel overwhelmed with fast speaking english-speakers. Please pray that she'll be able to understand all of the content, and be able to make friends with the other students. That the Lord will speak to her heart and show her His will for her life. Amen.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support throughout the years. I'm so sorry for my late updates. I would like prayer that I can balance my work and spiritual growth during the schooltime. If there's anything I can pray for you, please send me a message by email, messenger, or Instagram. Thank you all so much, and have a most wonderful day!
Galatians 6:9
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
