Attention, all family, friends, and supporters: I formally apologize for the very, very late blog post! It's been constantly busy these past couple of months, with the official start of our very first Discipleship Training School (DTS)! We have students from America, Canada, Denmark, Singapore, and one cute Japanese woman, none other than Misako! 11 students and 7 staff total, it's been a fun and challenging season so far, seeing these young people learning more about God and growing closer to Him.
Each week has been a different subject with a different visitor teacher leading the time. Topics such as Bible overview, the character of God, spiritual warfare, the father heart of God, and more. We all also do a local sports outreach here in Sendai, playing with kids at a park. Later in December, we will do an international outreach to Thailand, led by yours truly! Please pray for all of our students to keep growing in the Lord and to give me and my fellow leaders wisdom, strength, and energy to do our best and serve our students the best we can. For privacy reasons, I won't post any pictures of our students for now, but I will post some wonderful pictures they have taken:
Please also pray for Misako. While her English is very good, she is shy around groups of talkative and (slightly) loud young people from overseas, which can be overwhelming for her. Thankfully, we have been able to translate the lectures in real time for her, but please pray she can get the most out of this time of learning and growing. I find myself growing in love for her everyday, my heart swelling whenever I see her. I pray our relationship will be pleasing for the Lord, and He will led us to whatever future He has for in store for us. Thank you.
I'm sorry for the short post, but October and November has been DTS related for the entire time. It's a fulltime job staffing a school, and I usually return home in the late evening. But it's been fun and the students are wonderful and eager to learn. They truly are all a blessing. We have a Christmas event coming up too, where we'll invite the community to cookie decorating, singing Christmas carols, and even a short skit about the first Christmas. Perhaps I will put on the Santa suit, as in tradition.
Hope you are all doing wonderful. Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support while I live as a missionary in Japan. Please keep praying for the people of Japan to hear the Gospel in a way that speaks to their hearts!
Galatians 6:9
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
