"March"ing onto Spring (aka: this time not an April Fools post!)

Hello, one and all! Winter is finally over, the cherry blossoms are blooming, and love is in the air for this fellow! And best of all: this is not an April Fools prank! I decided to break the yearly tradition of doing a joke blog every April 1st, because today's post is way too awesome to make light of! Therefore, here we go:

This month has been a busy one! We've had two visiting teams over the course of three days simultaneously, we've restarted our Kokubuncho (Sendai's red light district) worship ministry, and our plans for our own DTS is well under way! Kokoro Kitchen has a few new food items, such as shaved ice, to carter to spring and summer customers! Also, I'm finally moving out of my tiny apartment in Ayashi, and moving into a much bigger one in downtown Sendai with my roommate and fellow teammate Joshua! While it's sad to leave my cosy home of four years, it's high time to leave our small country town and into the bustling city! Thankfully, it's only a 25 minute train ride both ways, so we won't be far from our friends and teammates. Joshua and I are praying that we can meet more people and be involved in even more ministries as we live life in the city.

Well, tax season is once again upon this humble missionary. The good news is I've received a lot of support last year (thank you all very much again!)! The bad news is that means Uncle Sam is wanting a bigger cut this year. While I'm able to afford taxes this year, it's still a bigger chunk than I first expected. Add that to my moving costs, and while I'm not in the red, I'll have to be careful with budgeting. Nevertheless, it's only money. Our lives belong to God. Please pray that my finances will not be a source of worry, but I may be disciplined and wise in how I use my resources for Jesus' glory. Thank you.

I have some major news, as many of you have seen on Facebook: me and this cutie here, Misako, are together officially as of a few days ago!

I met her back in December, when she moved to Sendai to be closer to Gary and Naoko. Yes: she's Naoko's sister! The past three weeks, we've been texting non-stop, and who would've guessed: we like each other! She's sweet, kind, gentle, loves God with all her heart, and has a liking for action movies and video games. Prefect! While I'm very happy to have found a wonderful woman of God who likes me back, I pray that our relationship will be pleasing to the Lord, no matter where this takes us to. It's an exciting, slightly scary, and windy road ahead, but I cannot wait to walk it hand-in-hand with Misako! To the future!

Spring is a season of many changes, and this year is no exception. The cherry blossoms bud, bloom, and fall away in the span of a week. A reminder that life is short, but it's also beautiful, in times of joy and times of sorrow. I pray that none of us will ever take it for granted, and our lives will be used for the glory of God's Kingdom. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support, and God bless every one of you.
