Greetings one and all! I apologize for the very late blog update! Had a great August and looking forward to autumn finally! The humidity and heat was getting a tad old, if I say so myself.
A few weeks ago, I went on a short vacation to a cabin on the coast of the Miyagi prefecture. It's called Omotehama beach (表浜), also known as "Foreigner's beach", since so many missionaries all across Japan visit for rest and refreshment. It has quite a bit of history too: over 100 years ago, some missionaries bought the beach property and built cabins to rest in. While I was there, I was fortunate to actually speak to a few of the current owners: the great-great-great grandchildren of the original missionaries! I've always had a love for history, so being in a beautiful beachfront cabin with so much time and memories attached: it was quite the privilege! Here are some pics of Omotehama:
Kitchen car update: we're picking up the car this coming Wednesday! The vehicle is about four hours away near the south-east coast of Niigata, so we're sending a small team of drivers to pick it up. Please pray for a safe drive and retrieval. Once the car is in Sendai, I'll post some pics of it on my Facebook, so please stay tuned!
I'm starting up language school again this Tuesday! Some of my teammates have taken the same class, and have expressed good things about it. I've been self-studying for over a year now, so I'm gearing myself up for a classroom setting. Please pray that I'll gain much knowledge and experience from this course as I continue to learn the language of the land!
Lastly, as many of you already know, my Mother has had Parkinson's disease for over four years now, and it's been pretty tough on her. But I'm proud of how much she's fought, and continues to keep fighting. On the 24th of September, she will be attending the Sole Support for Parkinson's walk in Vancouver, WA, and is currently raising support for Parkinson's Resources of Oregon, a wonderful non-profit that has helped her greatly. Please consider supporting her as she walks for hope. Thank you and have a most wonderful day.
*Update* Mom has made her donation goal! Thank you all!
But we still need God's healing power…..Please consider praying for the 1 million Americans (and 10 million sufferers worldwide) with Parkinson's and please pray for a cure!

"but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
