Busy as busy can be(e)!

Hi, everyone! Sorry for not posting for a while! It's been a crazy month for myself and the team. Lemme tell you all about it:

A team from YWAM Taipei visited us a few weeks ago, as I've mentioned in my last post, helping us with some team building exercises, as well as hosting a cultural fair for the locals here in Ayashi. The week before, we had printed out around 800 leaflets advertising for the event and put them into mailboxes all over town. Here's what it entailed:

Basically saying that there's a visiting group from Taipei staying at the local seminary who are putting on a performance for the people of Ayashi. Free cookies and juice after the show!

The performance itself consisted of the team singing songs and dances from their respective countries, and ending the night with a powerful testimony from one of the girls. A big part of the show, however, was a skit set to the song "Everything" by the band Lifehouse, which is an already pretty famous act that many churches like to perform due to its intensity and impact. With our help, we made a new adaptation suited more for a Japanese audience. Here's the act in question. See if you can spot a certain somebody:

Let me know what you think! Unfortunately, it's hard to make out the signs on the actors, so I had to put obvious subtitles. If you have a question about what each person represents, please fill free to ask! I'd love to talk to you about it.

We didn't have a packed house on opening night, but we did have some of the local Christians attend, and even one man who read the leaflet in his mailbox! He's even shown interest in visiting the local Ayashi church as well! Praise God! Please pray for his salvation and for more people in Ayashi to come to Christ.

On a heavier note, our wonderful couple, Tom and Rosa, are sadly leaving in a few weeks to head back to the UK. They've told us way ahead of time about moving last summer time, saying they feel God is calling Tom to become a vicar with the Church of England, but now that the time is so close, it's really hitting home. They were one of the first people to live here in Sendai, apart from Gary and Naoko, and have been a major blessing for all of us with their humor, generosity and open hearts. Please pray that this new transition will be smooth for them and for God's peace to be upon them in this new season of life. Thank you.

Speaking of prayer requests, American tax season is here! I wish I could say that it's not a point of stress for myself, but that would be lying. Last year, it came as a sort of a shock when I realized I actually had to pay a suitable sum, considering I've always gotten a refund before then. Thank God that he provided a way to deduct most of what I had owed, as well as the money to pay off the rest. Please pray for me that taxes will be less of a burden this yea, and for more financial support entering into this new season.

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support! God bless you and keep you in all that you do!

Jeremiah 29: 11 - 13

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'"
