Hi everyone! I apologize for the very last post! With my online school, upcoming YWAM projects, meetings, and holidays, I've been quite busy! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year, and while I'm sad I didn't get to spend it with my immediate family in the USA, as I'd hoped I would back in January, it was still a wonderful time spending it with my YWAM family!
For this year, instead of getting a turkey (which is expensive and rare in Japan), we settled on roasted chicken, bread rolls, egg salad, and a side salad, which was absolutely delicious! Add a homemade pumpkin pie, made by Faith, as a finisher, and you have a fantastic home-away-from-home feast! Here are some pics of our feast:
Later this December, my team and I will be doing a Christmas outreach that'll co-exist with the current COVID restrictions. I'll be sharing more details later one, but be praying for fruit to grow as a result of this!
On a not-so-light note, it grieves my heart to report that the month of October had more suicides in Japan then in previous years. According to this article: https://abc7news.com/japan-suicides-suicide-rates-covid-women/8359064/ , Japan was actually seeing a decrease in suicides up till 2019. However, due to pressures caused by COVID, that number has sadly risen sharply this fall. Please pray for the Japanese people during this difficult time, and that the pandemic will end soon. Thank you.
This post is rather on the short side, so I'll end this by saying I'm so thankful to each and every one of you for your prayers and support during this crazy year of working in Japan! May God bless every one of you as 2020 is coming to its end, and have a most wonderful day!
