After two long months of waiting, praying, and preparing, I'm excited to tell you all that I've received my Certificate of Eligibility from my team in Sendai, Japan, and I've finally applied for a work visa! The reason it took so long to get one was because I needed to prove that I'll be working for a Japanese company (Youth With A Mission), and to do that I needed an official Certificate of Eligibility from the Immigration Office in Sendai. Otherwise getting a work visa would have taken half a year or more, and even then there would be little guarantee of actually getting it.
Now, I just need to wait till next Tuesday to pick it up, if everything goes smoothly. My projected arrival to Japan is looking like mid-January, after all the holidays (New Years is huge in Japan). As much as I want to leave and start my new missionary career, it's for the best to wait til Christmas is over and arrive at a less busy time for myself and my team. Please pray that the work visa process will go through without any issues and that God's timing will take place over all plans, expectations, and any hindrances external or internal that I may have.
A huge thank you to all my family, friends, and follow Christ followers for supporting and praying for me this far. Thank you for your patience as I prepare to share the wonderful Gospel to people who so need Christ's hope, salvation and love. God bless you all!
