Greetings, everyone!

The air is getting colder, there are rumors of snow coming our way, and we finally gave in and bought some kerosene to keep warm through the freezing nights. Thankfully, we have some warm news to share, so gather around and here we go!

Fall in Ayashi!

Rei has officially been discharged from the hospital! After nearly a long and difficult year of intensive treatment, he can finally be home full-time with his family. He still needs to go in for checkups every two weeks, but it’s such a wonderful blessing to have him home again. Praise God for His healing and faithfulness!

Recently, we were blessed to have a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) team from Queensland, New Zealand visit us for a week. It was such an encouragement to serve alongside them here in Sendai! In the next two months, we’re also expecting three more teams from around the world to visit. It’s exciting to see so much growing interest in Sendai and in what God is doing here, though it definitely keeps us busy! Please pray that each team’s time here will bear lasting fruit.

Misako and I have both been busy as part of YWAM Sendai’s creative team. I’m currently designing a brochure for our base and our upcoming Discipleship Training School (DTS), which we’re hoping and praying to launch in the fall of 2026—though it’s not yet confirmed. We plan to translate it into Japanese so we can share it with local churches and believers, helping them quickly understand who we are and what a DTS is. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, Misako has been designing official YWAM Sendai t-shirts for our team! We currently have three designs being reviewed, and once they’re finalized, we’ll be excited to share them with you all. We’re so grateful to be using our creative gifts for the Kingdom of God, and we look forward to showing more of our work soon.

Wonderful news: a local Japanese woman from a church in Akita (one that our team has a close connection with) has given her life to the Lord and has been officially baptized! She first started to know about Christ by meeting with members our team for coffee, and it led to her salvation! Praise the Lord for His goodness! Please pray that her faith will continue to grow, and that she will find strong fellowship and discipleship through her church and through our team.

We’re very grateful to have gained a few new monthly supporters who have joined us in our mission here in Japan. Your generosity helps us keep serving and reaching people for Christ. We’re still trusting God for about $580 more per month to reach full financial stability. If you feel led to partner with us, or know someone who might, we’d be deeply grateful.

As we head toward the end of the year, we’re full of gratitude for what God is doing here in Tohoku. Thank you for walking this journey with us.

Hebrews 13:6-8

"'So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."'
