Hello, everyone! I hope your November is swell! Mine has been rather quiet as of late, considering half of our team is overseas for the holidays. Not much to report about, but here's some stuff that's been happening:
Our leaders: Gary, Naoko, and their three-year old son, Kai, are in the UK for two months; raising support and awareness of YWAM Sendai and our mission in Japan, traveling around the country from church to church. Tom, and Rosa will be leaving in less than a week to the US to spend time with Rosa's family, and then in December, Faith is going back to the states also, leaving Janet, Chrissy (when she returns from overseas) and I here in in Ayashi until everyone comes back after New Years. I think they have plans for Christmas too, but not confirmed yet. It's so lonely!
However, I've been planning and praying that I'll be able to visit the Tokyo YWAM base and some Japanese friends on the week of December 22nd, so I won't spend Christmas all by myself this year. I tend to be more introverted at times, liking my alone time, but the holidays are for certain not meant to be celebrated by oneself. Please pray that the Lord will provide enough money for transportation and lodging before too long!
Yesterday, a Russian couple, Sergei and Victoria, who hail from a YWAM base in Russia and are spending a month in Japan, visited us for morning worship and lunchtime! We were so blessed to have visitors from so far away spend time in prayer and fellowship, as we praised God together! Here's a pic from our time together:
One more thing to note is that this Thursday, the new Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, will be in an important ritual this Thursday called Daijo-Sai, as part of his coronation as Emperor. This ceremony is when the new Emperor unites Japan with the spirit of the sun goddess, Amaterasu, binding it together in the new era of Reiwa.
Our team (plus some members of our local churches) strongly believe in interceding during this ceremony, praying for the future of both the Emperor and Japan as this they enter into this new time. That Christ will shine all the greater upon this country and its people. Therefore, if you're interested, please consider finding a time during the ceremony to pray with us.
It's a rather long ritual, going from Thursday night at 6:30pm til very early Friday morning at 3:30am, but to those in the western hemisphere, please pray on Thursday in-between 1:30am and 10:30am (PST), whichever you can do. Our team is planning on praying in shifts during those two days for God's will to be done in Japan, and we'd love to have you all join with us! Thank you all, and have yourselves a wonderful day!
Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 72:17
"May his name endure forever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed!"
