After nearly three years living and serving in Japan as a YWAM missionary, and dealing with numerous delays, I'm excited to finally announce that I plan to make a two month visit to the United States, from mid November to mid January!
Being a part of YWAM, they highly recommend to serve in the mission field for at least two years, and to return back home for at least two months. Not only so that I may visit family and friends, but to also share stories of my time here in Japan, and tell how God is moving here in Sendai to current and future supporters. This includes meeting new people, visiting churches, reconnecting with as many supporters as possible, and so on. It's not so much of a vacation, as more of a home assignment, if that makes sense!
Having said that, I desire to meet up with as many of you as possible. While many of you are spread across the country, I plan on visiting five major locations: San Diego, Washington State, Portland, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. These places have a high concentration of family, friends, and supporters, and I hope to spend at least a week in each location, Lord willing.
So far, this is a rough schedule for my trip (Not Final!):
November 17th: Arrive in San Diego
November 18th - December 18th: Stay in San Diego
December 19th - January 1st: Visit Washington/Portland
January 2nd - 9th: Visit Wisconsin
January 10th-17th: Visit North Carolina
January 18th - 20th: Head back to San Diego/Get COVID Test
January 21st: Fly back to Japan
Now, with the COVID pandemic still in full swing, travel can be difficult and plans can change. Not to mention the risk of infection, and even being stuck in the USA, if Japan closes the borders to foreign residents again. However, I have gotten the first dose of the COVID vaccine, and am scheduled to receive the next and final dose at the end of the month. With this, entering the US is easier, but nevertheless still warrants caution. I do not want to operate out of fear, but a healthy degree of safety, so if there is anyone who is particularly vulnerable to COVID, please let me know.
As for purchasing plane tickets, it'll be about $1050 for a round trip from Japan to the USA, not including domestic plane tickets to other states. It's pretty expensive, but it'll be worth it to see you all in person! After dealing with COVID restrictions and delays for so long, it'll be a true blessing to actually talk to my wonderful supporters in person! If you would like to help me return home for a visit, please prayerfully consider making a donation!
If anyone has any questions, inquiries, or requests, please let me know! Thank you all so much for supporting me and my ministry to share the gospel with the Japanese throughout these past years! May the Lord bless each and every one of you, and hope to see you all soon!
Romans 1:9-15 "God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been…from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles."
