A New Tool in the Ministry Toolbox!

Greetings and salutations, my dear friends! I apologize for the lack of updates in May, but it's been a busy month, so let's get down to it!

First off, I built my own computer! If you remember my last post, I wrote how I wanted to get back into editing movies, but how my laptop wasn't up to scratch. Well, thanks to the Lord's provision and all of your support, I was able to afford to purchase all the computer parts and software needed to build my own editing computer from the ground up! For the price I spent, it has a ton of power, RAM, and storage to spare. For all the tech nerds out there, here are the specs:

CPU: Core i5-11400 (6 core, 12 thread)

Motherboard: ASRock B560M Pro 4

RAM: CFD W4U3200PS-8G DDR4 16GB

HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 3.5" 2TB 7200RPM

SSD: Adata XPG SX8100 ASX8100NP-512GT-C

Power Supply: KRPW-BK650W/85+

Case: Thermaltake Versa H26

OS: Windows Home 10 DSP

Monitor: Dell S2721Q 27" 4K

(No GPU ((graphics processing unit)) yet, since they currently cost an arm and leg, plus I don't currently need one for editing anyhow)

I didn't add those glowing lights to my PC. The case came with it! Big thank you to my team leader, Gary, for finding and recommending all of these parts! Actually building the PC was quite the endeavor. Not because it's strenuous by any means, but because you have to make sure everything fits in place and applied correctly, otherwise you could have huge problems, like the CPU overheating or not getting enough power. It's like Legos, except much more fragile and expensive. Nevertheless, it only took us three hours and one try to get it working, so that's a major victory for this rookie PC builder!

Now that I have this new tool, my desire is to make more movies for ministry and to help fellow missionaries however I can. In this day and age of social media, it's becoming more and more important to "show", rather than just "tell", about one's life and work. I hope to be apart of that and help whoever I can with the gifts God has given me. One video at a time!

On a separate and sad note, our youngest member: Faith, has felt that God is calling her back home to the USA, so she'll be leaving Sendai this coming Saturday. We all feel at peace with her decision, but it's still a time of grieving for our little YWAM family. She's been here for almost as long as I have, 2.5 years, and she's been a wonderful asset to our team, with her sense of humor and wise insights. We'll all truly miss Faith and pray that the Lord will bring her back to Japan someday, as apart of our team or not.

For our last time together as a team, we took a day trip up Mt. Zao, which is a famous spot for sight seeing, in order to see the crater lake. But since it was cold, windy, and cloudy, we couldn't see it from the viewing platform until right before we were about to drive back. And even then it was for a few minutes of visibility, but it was all worth it in the end! Here are some pics of our time there:

But the day didn't end there! After Mt. Zao, we drove an hour to a "Fox Village", a famous sanctuary for local foxes, which you can actually meet face to face! We weren't allowed to pet them, since they bite, but we could feed them special food and walk among them as they screamed and ran around, attacking one another. Ryan here got to hold a baby fox for 600 yen (About $5.60), which was just the cutest thing on the entire planet!

So yeah! This month was a fun one! It's sad to see one of our own go back home, but we know that whatever Faith does, God will be with her, just as He's here with us in Sendai! Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support, and have a most wonderful day!

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for."
